About Me

A good friend of mine (Graham Rawson) had always been into fishing, introduced me to beach casting.  Coarse fishing had never been my thing as you have to be quiet for long periods of time, anyone who has ever met me will tell you that I don't suit coarse fishing for this reason alone.

Beach casting, it seemed, merely required me to be able to attach large amounts of bait to huge hooks and stand around talking crap for hours on end.  Anyone who has ever met me will tell you that I am well suited to beach casting for this reason in particular.

After many years of moving around Britain, France and Spain I am now married to Rachel and have two children, Robin and Beau.  We are now lucky enough to live in Cornwall and one of the considerations when coming down here to live was the fact that I fell in love with the area over a number of years when visiting for various musical and fishing excursions.

I have been fishing for a few years now, none of which have been particularly successful from the point of view of catching large fish.

However if you measure your success by the amount of enjoyment you have taken out of it, I think I must have done alright.

I started beach casting around 8 years ago when I moved back to Bristol after a nasty skiing accident.

Given that I am relatively new to Cornwall I am using this website as a means of exploring the county, discovering some of its history, and hopefully catching a few fish.

I was originally just going to produce myself a catch report on a spreadsheet, but I thought this might be more fun.

I hope I manage to enjoy it and maybe you will too.
